Grumpy Goat Fine Yarn was established in 2019. It is a yarn boutique located in the Historic Downtown of Port Jervis, NY which is a constantly growing area of shops, food, and arts. Port Jervis, NY is on the border of New Jersey and Pennsylvania and the National Park of the Delaware River and has full access via the train from NYC. It is a women-owned, women-operated company that welcomes everyone regardless of their age, ethnicity, ancestry, gender, expression, race, religion, sexual orientation, size, socioeconomic background, ability or disability (we are also wheelchair accessible). We work to provide a warm, friendly and inspiring atmosphere for yarn, knit/crochet lovers of all kinds. We have a diverse selection of fine yarns with a wide range of colors, blends and prices from local hand dyed yarn and yarn from countries around the world. Grumpy Goat also is very conscious providing products with respect for animals, humans, and the earth, and bring deep satisfaction to your crafting.
The name Grumpy Goat is based on the true story of Lance Corporal William Windsor – a royal cashmere goat serving as the Welsh military mascot, who was briefly demoted after headbutting a drummer during celebrations for Queen Elizabeth II’s 80th birthday in 2006.
